Study: School meal waste up, veggie consumption down

 The amount of food wasted in school cafeterias since passage of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 has increased about 56%, according to a study from the University of Vermont. Researchers found that while students are taking fruits and vegetables -- as required under the law -- they are consuming less of them.
